Gold Coast Aboriginal Heritage
The Tweed Heads Historical Site, or 'Minjungbal', is perhaps the most unique park in the region. Relatively small in size at only 8 hectares, the site celebrates the original inhabitants of the area, the Minjungbal people.
The Centre comprises an office and shop, refreshment kiosk, a fine museum, art gallery and an amphitheatre for outdoor performances. You can also take advantage of the walking track, mangrove boardwalk and picnic area equipped with electric barbecues.
Indigenous officers offer guided interpretive tours to visitors through the museum and site, its relics, flora and fauna.

Featuring seven buildings from the local area, the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre contains extensive displays highlighting the history of Mount Tamborine. Displays explore the geological history of the region, as well as the Aboriginal history.
Exhibitions of pioneer clothing and equipment give visitors an idea of the determination of the hard-working settlers. Visit the slab cottage, the blacksmith's, the general store, dairy and barber shop to get a feel for everyday life in the early 1900s. The centre also features a quarter-scale model of an outdoor water wheel.
