Welcome to Burleigh Heads

>> An Introduction To Burleigh Heads

Fast becoming the most popular family holiday destination, Burleigh Heads over looks the sun-drenched beaches and crystal waters of the Pacific. Conveniently located halfway between Coolangatta Airport and the lights of Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads is one of the few places left where the visitor can actually experience what the Gold Coast was like before it was invaded by high-rise development.

Brave the Burleigh barrels, the south-easterly swell which rolls around the headland, and provides the ideal conditions for national surf events including the Quiksilver Pro. Nearby Tallebudgera Creek offers calm waters and an estuary beach which is ideal for families with small children. Those with older children will enjoy exploring the rock pools, and can cool off with a splash in the waves at the main beach.

The beaches are lined with beautiful parkland, with sheltered picnic and BBQ areas to enjoy, and beachfront cafes and restaurants in which to sample the local cuisine.

Take a walk along esplanade, following the graceful Norfolk Pines along the beachfront and up the hill to the Burleigh Heads National Park. The park is a peaceful haven of windswept tussocks and ancient rainforest that harbours local wildlife, and boasts spectacular views of the surrounding coastline.

The main street has a charming small village feel, with shops and cafes flanked by distinctive pines and pandanus palms. Burleigh West boasts a large shopping complex and a booming industrial area featuring major exporters and manufacturers such as Billabong.

This enchanting holiday playground also offers easy driving access to major theme parks and other Gold Coast attractions plus sport and entertainment clubs.
